Project Misik Cambridge:
Honoring Our Ancestors’ March Towards Freedom
A collaborative 21st century new musical project, inspired by the activism of Cambridge’s 19th century African American abolitionists, Project Misik: Cambridge seeks to advance racial justice by voicing, through the creation of new musical compositions, the historical contributions and reverberations of Cambridge’s 19th Century African American residents and activists, teaching this largely still unsung history -- about our community’s ancestors -- to those of us living and working in Cambridge now.
