Learn more about Steel Pan in a hands on workshop led by Sista Dee. This workshop is FREE but PLEASE bring donations — all go to support Sista Dee’s Family’s homecoming ceremony in Jamaica.

After a warm up from DJ Lady Ly, our afternoon musicking begins with a steel pan workshop led by Sista Dee. We will have instruments on hand — learn more about the origins of the the steel pan and learn some technique from Sista Dee. We will appreciate your donation of any amount as your entry to the workshop! All urgently needed proceeds will support a homegoing celebration planned for a new ancestor — Sista Dee’s. Headlining our afternoon is Robyn Kamira and Wai.Tai. Traveling from Aotearoa/New Zealand, and just finishing a Wellesley College residency, Robyn and Wai.Tai will share their World fusion, which has Maori tradition it its heart. Don’t miss their first tour to the U.S.! We will accept your donation of any amount as your entry to this performance.
